La Jolla artist Kathryn Stephens grew up in Tulsa, OK before moving to Los Angeles to pursue art and design. She studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and UCLA.
After moving to San Diego to raise a family, she resumed her fine art studies at UCSD.
Throughout her unique career opportunities, Kathryn has continually painted and created. Her style embodies the fine techniques of the masters with a contemporary approach to materials.  She works in a variety of mediums and transitions easily between oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media and mosaic.
Her works hang in private and corporate collections, and she has painted numerous commissions.
